MASAF in conjunction with TalentCorp Malaysia successfully held its annual CV and Personal Development workshop at the Malaysian Embassy in Paris. It comprised of 45 participants ranging from BAC+1 to PhD engineering scholars from Malaysia. The turnout was satisfactory as we had an increase of participants doubling last year’s numbers. We had a delegation of representatives from CCI France Malaysia, Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), and Lafarge-Holcim Group who helped facilitate the event.
We commenced with a keynote by our JPA student advisor En. Akmal Malik on the latest updates about scholarship matters and carrier prospects for French graduates back in Malaysia. The CV correction session was then carried out by our facilitators. We had two sessions starting from those of BAC+3 and above then to the DUT students. Participants were given the opportunity to have their CVs and motivation letters corrected both in English and French. Post lunch, there was an individual mock interview session both in English and French to give our students an experience of a job interview evaluation. Participants were asked to present themselves and directed with several questions following with tips and advices on answering them.
On behalf of the working committee and MASAF, we would like to express our gratitude to our main sponsor TalentCorp, supporting partners JPA, the Malaysian Embassy, our panelist Ms. Christina LIM ( Vice President of Group HR Information System for LafargeHolcim Group), Mr. Michel LE GUYADER (Representative of Malaysian French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFM) ), Mr. Guillame BOISSY (Representative of MIDA France) and Ms. Justine BLANCHARD (Exolys Recruitment Firm, Paris) for their time and contribution in making this event a success.
A special note of appreciation to Puan Nurul and Puan Juliana from PPL Paris for their contributions and assistance.
We thank the participants and the working committee for your support and hope that all of you have benefited well from this workshop .
