Q : Why did you choose to do your study in this city and how did it differ from your expectations?

Venessa : I was hesitating on the course I want to pursue, and the university offers all the choices I was thinking about. I ended up finding a different passion and the university allowed me to go for it. Nothing much to say on expectations, but do always prepare yourself to adapt 🙂
Nadine : I wanted to do this specific master de recherche

Q : What do you like and dislike about this city?

Venessa : Paris has A LOT to offer, it’s vibrant, entertaining, beautiful, but can be busy and crowded. It’s a love and hate relationship haha anyway all depends on the area!
Nadine : I like the social life, the beauty of the city and my friends. I disliked the danger of roaming around at night alone.

Q : What were the difficulties that you faced here? How did you overcome them?

Venessa : First semester was hard, most of my batch mates were from prepa so professors went really fast in certain subjects. I just had to adapt to the new environment.
Nadine : N/A

Q : What did you like to do in the city for leisure purposes?

Venessa : Eat lol. Visit museums or some interesting places sometimes? Just wander around the city. Do some sports.
Nadine : Soirées, bars, cafés, sports, exploring, museums, hiking

Q : How did you find the locals in the city?

Venessa : Hmmm..strangers mostly mind their own business? I also met people who are friendly and want to talk. A lot of étrangers honestly. You can find any nationality here. University mates are quite nice!
Nadine : Very nice.

Q : Share your favourite memory in this city/your department.

Venessa : I love how accessible things are in terms of transportation, food, events, other cities etc whatever you can think of.. and how this city made me grow a lot! 🙂

Venessa : Boucherie, supermarket

Q : How do you find the teachers and the environment in your department

Venessa : They are nice? Not as pedagogic as in IUT like any other ecole.

Q : How do you find the international student support in your department/école?

Venessa : Yeah pretty good with PSL Welcome Desk. There’s support in renewing visas, finding accomodation, and they organise events.

Q : Describe the student life (Sports, night life, cultural events)

Venessa : There’s a lot of associations, clubs and joint-school events. We have BDE, BDS, BDA as the main associations… a lot of soirées, sports tournaments etc.

Q : How do you go to class?

Venessa : 30 mins by public transports.
