

We Need More Women!
As of 2020, only 16% of the ministerial level positions in Malaysia are occupied by women. In the parliament, the number is slighter with only 14.9%. The battle of the sexes had always been a contentious topic, especially with the gendered expectations linked to the female and male population of Malaysia. How can we explain the lack of women representation in politics? Are we capable of undoing decades of self-enforcing patriarchal social structures?
